Pump Troubles?

There are many times that your pump may not have actually failed. There are several steps you can take to troubleshoot your pump and determine that the lack of water flow is caused by something else. These simple steps could save you hundreds of dollars and only takes a few minutes to try.

Got GFCI?

The National Electrical Code requires GFCI protection of receptacles located outdoors and in bathrooms, garages, and spa areas. This GFCI circuit breaker provides protection against overloads, short circuits, and ground faults. It detects very low levels of electrical current leaks (ground faults), and acts quickly to shut off power, preventing serious shock. When a GFCI receptacle trips, it usually caused by an electrical malfunction in something that is plugged into the outlet. Is your GFCI outlet too sensitive or is there a problem?

MYTH A pond in your backyard means you will have a lot of mosquitoes.
REALITY Mosquitoes will generally only lay their eggs in still, stagnant water. If the mosquitoes happen to lay eggs in your pond and the mosquito larvae hatch, the fish in your pond will consider them a treat and will pick them off the water’s surface with great enthusiasm. You skimmer will sweep up whatever the fish miss. Another option is to use a natural mosquito larvae killer, such as Mosquito Dunks and Pre-Strike.
